It’s that time of the year again when the U.S. President takes a vacation. This year Obama has chosen Martha’s Vineyard for his holiday which will make him the sixth President to do so, following in the foot steps of Calvin Coolidge, Ulysses S Grant, John F Kennedy, Richard Nixon and Bill Clinton. The Obama’s are renting the 20.35 million Blue Heron Farm on Cobbs Hill Road overlooking Tiah’s Cove in Chilmark and West Tisbury.

We were super excited to get our new Real Living magazine July issue with our good friend Michelle Adams inside! She graces no less than 8 pages and her apartment looks fantastic! We know Michelle has been working so hard to get everything spic and span for this shoot and she has done a brilliant job. She really shows what can be done in a small space and on a budget. Her look is nothing less than stylish and Michelle’s natural flair for transforming interiors is obvious! Patrick Cline has taken these beautiful photos and together, he and Michelle make a great team! We are so proud of you Michelle! Come back and see us again very soon…… or we will just have to come and see you. Huge congratulations – you look so darn cute on that sofa too!
Oh, we forget to mention that as well as being pretty and clever, Michelle is the founder of her own organic fabric range, Rubie Green.

We have recently been inspired by other bloggers posting about one of our favourite things when it comes to decorating! The use of stripes – yes the simple (and straight!) stripe can convert the most banal of rooms to the most droolworthy! Even used in the smallest of rooms, the stripe can add grand proportions of the most magestic kind. And we are not talking about beige stripes either here…………we mean pink , yellow ,black and just about any colour to make a statement and in any room of the house.Vertical, horizontal,wallpaper, rugs on the floor – the brighter the better! What about you? Are you game on for stripes???
