Mood Indigo

Friday, January 21st, 2011
When it comes to interior décor, blue can be a colour that many people shy away from. It has a bit of a bad rep for being cold and uninviting, but when it’s used in the right shades, in the right light, AND in the right proportions (relative to other elements in the room), it can look exceptionally chic.

We love the look of these blue interiors… what do you think?

Gold & White

Wednesday, January 19th, 2011
One of my favourite colour combinations is gold & white. Clean, crisp white and rich, opulent gold seem to work especially well together – creating a fresh and contemporary look whilst evoking some old school glamour.  I had a look through some of the images in my inspiration library & here are a few of my favourites:

Thanks to Adore for mentioning our tag sale which we launched on our website today. The Madeline Weinrib ikat upholstered Louis chairs are attracting a lot of attention… but there are plenty of other delicious goodies on there too, so to take a look!

Creating colour outdoors

Wednesday, September 15th, 2010

I love that the days are getting longer and the sun is shining more frequently. I stare at my garden each morning and ponder what colour I will add to it this summer to give it a little character. I love having brightly coloured cushions and lounges in my garden to bring the Inside Out and make it a really comfortable happy place to be.

House and Garden Magazine this month have some tips on creating a dreamy outdoor area. They have used Katherine Rally fabrics to warm up a space and add depth. Katherine Rally fabrics are perfect for this sort of application, the range consists of stripes and lovely Balinese prints in fabulous vibrant colours. See for yourself on the front cover and pages 136 and 137.

Thank you House and Garden for the front cover shot, we are thrilled!

Before summer hits and the parties begin, we have had lots of requests from clients to create unique and functional outdoor spaces. So over the next few weeks I will share some ideas to help you prepare for the imminent nice weather.

This month’s Belle magazine is on the shelves and our very own China Seas is featured on page 68 and Les Indiennes is featured on page 69. It is a beautiful spread on a range of fabulous fabrics from tribal prints to French provincial.

The China Seas range includes geometrics, floral, and Chinoiserie patterns that are continuously used by top American Interior Designers. The colours and patterns are timeless, making them perfect for either classic or modern interiors. They are hand screened on a linen/cotton ground. China Seas designs are also available in wallpaper.

Les Indiennes fabrics are a modern interpretation of traditional Indian motifs designed by Mary Mulcahy. The fabrics are made in India using the traditional Kalamkari process, which does not cause pollution and provides fair trade for over 50 families in the Indian village where there are made. The patterns are printed on organically grown cotton using natural dyes. The results are soft, beautiful and timeless. Quilts, cushions and bed linen is also available in coordinating patterns.

We love this month magazine with the bright yellow and white awning featured on the front, very Hamptons indeed.  Skip to page 76 and low and behold there is my Hamptons outfit waiting for me. Thank you Belle for loving our lines and for producing such a fun read month after month.
