To all of you who are hosting parties and family get-togethers this holiday, I am sending you all my best wishes and encouragement for a happy and stress-free time. They say that the key to being a great hostess is some serious organisation…. Although perhaps I would add that it’s important not to take things too seriously!

I saw this photo from Lonny in my files – look at all that china and serviceware all stacked up, organised and ready to party… beautiful, isn’t it? Let’s see if it inspires us all to let our inner Martha shine.

There have been some really beautiful holiday gift guides and wish lists out in blog-land over the past week (Shelter, Chinoiserie Chic, StyleBeat, Elements of Style, to name a few) and I’ve been feasting my eyes on all the fabulous and stylish gifts that have been picked out.

Here are a few of my last minute suggestions for gifts for the stylish ladies in your life (or for yourself, of course)… let’s hope Santa reads blogs!

Thank you to all our lovely clients and friends for supporting us and bearing with us whilst we’ve rearranged our business in 2010 – it’s been a little crazy at times but now we’re ready to really rock and roll! We now have a fantastic new team in place and we’re excited about all the fabulous new projects that lie in store for us in 2011.

The lovely Melanie & Elizabeth from Ivy & Piper popped into our offices this week to interview us and take a look at some of the exciting projects we’re working on – we’re thrilled to be featured in the 2nd edition which will be out in the New Year.

It was super to meet the Ivy & Piper team and we’re so pleased they had chance to come visit us even at such a hectic time of year when their diaries must be bursting!

For those, like me, who find it hard to wait 2 months for the next issue of their favourite magazines to be published, Ivy & Piper’s Holiday Issue is the perfect thing to tide you over.

Care for a cocktail?

The holiday season is upon us & with it comes the proliferation of drinks parties.

Never one to need much of an excuse for a good cocktail, I love to see people’s homes with a nicely set up bar tray or table in the social rooms of a home. The old school glamour of a good cocktail shaker, some smart glasses, fresh ice in an ice bucket and a good selection of drinks is a cheerful and comforting sight!

Bunny Williams provides inspiration for being a winning hostess with the perfect bar set up, as she describes in her book Scrapbook for Living.

Get out of town

It’s been a very busy week here with the launch of our tag sale and a big push to get client projects finished before Christmas… it’s been go go go! We’ve got another busy couple of weeks ahead of us before the holidays start so I’m taking some time out this weekend to re-charge the batteries for just a couple of days before the final stretch! The car’s all packed up & I’m heading out to our place in the countryside just as soon as I possibly can…
