Dining with Michelle Adams at Bobo
My New York City trip keeps getting better! Last night I had dinner at Bobo in the west village. The owner, Carlos Suarez, has managed to combine the service of delicious food with a welcoming and chicly comfortable space. The amazing interiors were designed by Dolores Suarez (cousin of Carlos) and Caroline Grant of interior design firm De Kar. With all it’s thoughtful attention to detail the upstairs dining room feels as if you’ve stepped into some one's Paris apartment for dinner, while the lower level is more gentleman's club and the outdoor space is a homey garden patio.
The highlight of the evening was my dinner guest, Michelle Adams aka MA Belle blogger and the creator of Rubie Green Fabrics.
Michelle and I have been in touch via email for the past few months working on getting her beautiful fabrics to me for the new showroom in Australia. I always suspected that she would be as fabulous as her fabrics - and I was right! She is young and modern and fun and embodies everything I love about contemporary decor and everything I want to bring to the Australian market! . We had so much to talk about…. the time just flew! Michelle told me all about her recent trip to Italy, and was kind enough to share her must-see list with me. (coincidentally,I leave for Italy next week.) Of course the J.K. Florence is top of the list - Michelle raved about this fantastic hotel in a recent MA Belle blog. I am looking forward to a long collaboration with Michelle not only in business but also as a friend.
So much is happening here in New York - the trip is even more successful (and fun!) than I had hoped. Everything is falling into place and I am over the moon!
I will try to write again soon with more news!
